The Industrial revolution laid the foundations of the manufacturing processes we still largely stick to today. Craftsmen were replaced by machinery that could produce faster and more efficiently than traditional methods. For most however, the Industrial Revolution meant growth. Innumerable jobs were created in entirely new industries, with industrial cities built around the factories that employed its people.
